Luxury North Norfolk coast park unveils its first all-electric holiday home

A luxury park in East Anglia has recently revealed its groundbreaking addition – the region’s first all-electric holiday home.

The Willerby All-E Dorchester model, designed to cater to eco-conscious holidaymakers has found its home at the picturesque Pinewoods Holiday Park in Wells-next-the-Sea, situated on the North Norfolk coast.

Introduced last September by Willerby, the All-E specification represents a pioneering initiative in the holiday home sector, aiming to revolutionize the industry’s approach to sustainability. Pinewoods Holiday Park, nestled within the Holkham estate, shares a commitment to environmental responsibility, with aspirations to be carbon negative by 2040. The integration of the Willerby All-E aligns seamlessly with this vision, marking a significant stride forward in Pinewoods’ eco-conscious journey.

Dubbed the e-Lakeside Luxe, this eco-friendly holiday home is currently the only one of its kind in East Anglia. Crafted by Willerby’s in-house technical and product development teams, the All-E system made its debut at the Great Holiday Home Show in Harrogate, heralding a new era of green innovation within the industry.

The Willerby All-E system is a game-changer in holiday home energy management, markedly reducing reliance on gas and confronting the challenge of transitioning to cleaner energy sources, especially in locations where electrical supply to holiday parks is restricted. Leveraging intelligent technology, the system constantly monitors and optimizes electricity consumption, ensuring that the supply remains within designated limits.

Willerby Business Development Manager Gemma Pudsey said: “We’re proud to have one of our all-electric models at Pinewoods, which is one of the most luxurious holiday parks in the whole of East Anglia.

“This is the first Willerby All-E in the region and we’re delighted it’s sited at Pinewoods – a park that shares our commitment to sustainability.

“We’re now seeing our Willerby All-E models being rolled out at parks across the country, as operators embrace the opportunity to enhance their holiday parks and make them more environmentally friendly.”

The e-Lakeside Luxe stands as a pinnacle of luxury at Pinewoods, boasting two bedrooms accommodating up to six guests, alongside an expansive open-plan living area and a modern kitchen space. Nestled within a newly developed section of the park, the holiday home offers panoramic views of the adjacent lake from its spacious wrap-around deck. Moreover, with amenities like an electric vehicle charger and an electric barbecue, the e-Lakeside Luxe epitomizes sustainable luxury.

The introduction of the Willerby All-E model represents the latest in a series of sustainability endeavors at Pinewoods. From initiatives such as cycle hire to the provision of an electric bus service connecting the park to nearby attractions, Pinewoods continues to prioritize eco-friendly practices, enhancing the guest experience while minimizing environmental impact.

Darren Williams, General Manager at Pinewoods, said: “One of the biggest challenges we faced on our journey to move away from a reliance on fossil fuels as a source of heating and hot water provision, in order to achieve our ambition of being carbon negative by 2040, was finding a solution that could be supported by the existing electrical infrastructure.

“Willerby has done exactly that with the All-E, which can replace existing gas-powered holiday homes on parks across the UK.

“We’re absolutely delighted to now be able to offer a fossil fuel-free holiday here at Pinewoods in the e-Lakeside Luxe, which will undoubtedly be extremely popular with our guests.”
