A recent online poll conducted by Sell My Group, a leading portal for the park industry, has revealed that cost and pet-friendly parks are the top factors influencing consumers’ decision-making when purchasing a park home.
Of the 202 respondents, 19% stated that the cost of the park home was the most important factor when buying. This is not surprising, given the current economic climate, as purchasers are looking for cost-effective solutions for their housing needs. Park homes are an affordable solution to costly traditional bricks and mortar homes. The lower upfront cost of purchasing a park home is a key factor appealing to many.
The second most important factor, with 16% of the vote, was whether the park was pet-friendly. The UK is a nation of animal lovers and property buyers are not willing to compromise on their furry friends. Parks that can accommodate pets will generally be more popular than parks that are not.
Joint third place, with 13% of the vote, was given to amenities close to the park home and ongoing costs. Park home buyers want to live in an area that has amenities including shops, restaurants, and other leisure facilities nearby.
Surprisingly, in fourth place, with 11% of the vote, was whether there was a good park owner. This factor is worth noting for park operators looking to market their park.
Affordability remains a top priority for park home buyers, especially given the current economic climate. Park homes offer an affordable alternative to traditional housing options. This includes not only the cost of the park home itself but ongoing costs such as site fees, utilities, and maintenance.
Justin Allitt, owner of Sell My Group said, “As the demand for park homes continues to rise, it is good for park owners to understand the key factors that influence consumers’ purchasing decisions. Our recent poll highlights the critical role of affordability, pet-friendliness, and proximity to amenities in attracting potential buyers. These factors should be used in all marketing promotion if this applies to your park.”
