The Andrew Cressey Interview

We chat with Andrew Cressey, Director at ParcVu Systems Ltd, to discuss the park industry, his role in it and what he likes to do when not working.

Hi Andy, thank you for taking part in the interview. Tell me about your role.

I am one of the owners and directors of ParcVu Systems. My role includes including sales and marketing, demonstrations of our park management platform, training and support and various aspects of the day-to-day management of the company,

What are your personal and professional goals for the next twelve months?

My personal goals are to improve my golf, keep fit and active (I have 4 grandchildren now!) and support my family. Professionally they are to continue to develop, promote and grow ParcVu. I always look for a reason that something can be done.

What inspires you?

Entrepreneurialism! I love reading about real life entrepreneurs and the obstacles they overcome to get where they are.

What is your favourite book and why?

I am not a huge reader but when I do read, it will either be an autobiography, or a business book. I am reading one now called “never split the difference” which is about negotiation. It is written by an ex-FBI hostage negotiator. Tyson Furys book was a bit of an eye opener and helped in understanding his behaviour and what he has been through.

If you weren’t doing what you do, what would you be doing?

I would probably be consulting to holiday parks.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working – Any past times and hobbies?

I love golf and carp fishing but when you run your own business-there never seems to be any time!

What’s the best thing you’ve watched recently & why?

I am not a massive TV person (no time!) but I try and watch a variety of things. I love a good gangster movie!

What has been your favourite professional moment?

Becoming a co-owner of ParcVu Systems ranks very highly. I have always worked very hard and looked after both my customers and my team. It kind of feels like this is the reward for my 30 years of hard work in the holiday park industry.

Who else would you like to be seen interviewed in this series and why?

I would like to see Bryan Mullarkey interviewed. Bryan is the creator, founder, and former owner of ParcVu Systems. A real gentleman and a great person to know.
